Infrastructure - Network Architecture

Infoskill has been providing infrastructure services to major Canadian organizations since 1988. Our path to success entails facilitating a technology platform that will allow you to focus on your core competencies instead of IT infrastructure. What we do best is establishing the foundation for systems management framework that includes Security Information Management, Asset management, Patch management, License management, Help Desk, Problem and Change management, Performance management, and Capacity planning. The services we provide can be classified into four major categories: Systems, Database, Networks, and Storage.

Logical and Physical Network Design and Implementation

Whether you have a small workgroup, or a LAN, or a WAN with multiple locations in the same area, different cities, different provinces, different countries, or different continents, the Infoskill team can safely connect you to your branch offices.

The Infoskill team fully understands both logical and physical network designs and has built networks for small workgroups utilizing peer-to-peer networks and scalable LANs that grow from a handful of nodes to thousands.

Our WAN implementations are not contained to a couple of buildings, but span to multiple cities, provinces, and even countries.

Our VoIP projects and experience gave us plenty of opportunities to get our skills sharpened in VLANs. Our team has achieved network segmentation on severs, workstations, and special processing segments for our clients.

The Infoskill team also participated fully in cost justification of VoIP solutions with full ROI calculations and facilitated the implementation on various occasions.

Having a strong security background has guided us to assist our clients in implementing wireless solutions; among these are single cell and multiple cell wireless solutions to implement LAN extension, cross building interconnect, nomadic access (link between LAN and mobile data equipment), and ad hoc networking.

Although we will be discussing VPNs in detail at other sections of our services, the Infoskill team has implemented many VPN solutions whether it be site-to-site VPN or remote access solutions. Our strong opinion in utilizing Active Directory as meta directory resulted in fully integrating VPN access with AD for the majority of our clients.

Our great understanding of OSI and TCP layers, made us effective and efficient on configuring routers, switches, and firewalls for our clients. Our team feels comfortable with command line interfaces as well as GUI-based ones.

Finally a variety of network monitoring solutions have been implemented for some of our clients spanning form reviewing logs to proactive network monitoring solutions with strong alert processes and procedures.

Infoskill worked with many Canadian organizations like Ontario Hydro, Zurich Insurance, Canada Life, Gay Lea Foods, and Rogers to shape their network architecture. As an example, our team built a test lab to simulate any combination of local and wide area network structure and rolled out a network infrastructure to support the Canada wide network as well as US connections at Campbell Soup.
