Systems and Associated Software
The Infoskill team is specialized on Windows server and Windows desktop platforms in addition to Linux platforms, a variety of UNIX platforms, and enterprise systems. In terms of Windows server operating platform, we implemented solutions for many Canadian organizations including Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows 2003 Data Center, Enterprise Server, and Standard Server. In addition, Windows Small Business Server based solutions have been implemented for some of our clients exploiting not only domain management but also mail server, web server, database server as well as software based security solutions with ISA.
Our team implements are Linux based solutions that are built on Red Hat, Suse,
while others involve compiling the kernel for specific needs for some clients. Apache based web server, firewall, database server, and print and file sharing are among the applications implemented by our teams.
In the desktop space, a common desktop platform to achieve management is
still Microsoft's desktop operating system. The management of desktop platforms
is an area in which we excel in small to medium size companies; this includes backup/restore, security and content management, updates and critical patches as well as help desk (first and/or second level).
The Infoskill team has evaluated, selected, implemented, and maintained software products including messaging systems, informational portals, as well as many backup/recovery solutions. Microsoft Exchange, Notes, QMail,
and Sendmail are among the messaging platforms we architected and implemented for our clients while maintaining GroupWise for some clients are fading away.
Microsoft SharePoint, IBM Websphere, and Oracle portals are implemented for some of our clients to promote collaboration in both IT and business teams.
Finally a variety of business solutions including CRM, web based time tracking, issue tracking, patch management, help desk, and licensing have been implemented for a number of our clients recently.
Canada Life, CasaCanada, Campbell Soup, Molson Breweries are among many other clients that we have built Systems and Information Architecture. We completed a series of assignments at Canada Life including preparing a business case for zSeries. This project involved analysis of IBM's latest 64-bit Enterprise Server hardware, Linux, IBM License Manager, server consolidation, and the potential of repatriating web-farm in-house. The business case evaluated all the potential benefits Canada Life could achieve including an extensive detailed financial analysis over a three year period.
Infoskill played a major role in the designing and the implementation of a
competitive Executive Information System to evaluate the quality statistics for
various brands and territories for senior executives at Molson Breweries.
Infoskill has completed seven projects over a period of two years at Campbell Soup with a business partner
that spanned from network architecture to data warehousing and data marts in addition to Windows NT migration and the first Intranet set up for Information Technology Services.
