Mobile Computing - Tablet PC

Although it is ironic to see that messaging systems are being accepted as mission-critical, this is the reality of the always connected workplace of today. Therefore high reliability, security, and consistent availability of the messaging systems became a norm to meet demanding user needs. As a result, Microsoft augmented Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 with feature-rich mobile messaging solutions with direct synchronization to Windows Mobile-based devices.

Windows Mobile solutions are implemented in a full range of horizontal and vertical industries on Pocket PCs, Smartphones, and even Tablet PCs. Building on the Windows Mobile device foundation and wireless connectivity, Microsoft provides connectivity to back-end messaging systems in a simple, rapid, and cost-effective means.

Finally, the familiar and intuitive Microsoft Windows interfaces expedited the adoption of the mobile messaging in an extremely flexible platform from mobile devices to wireless connectivity with strong security and systems management framework.

Tablet PC

The Tablet PC is referred as the best PC ever considering the evolution of the notebook PC. Convertible Tablet PCs look much like today's notebooks with integrated keyboards and clamshell designs. With a convertible Tablet PC, the screen can easily be rotated and laid flat to convert to Tablet mode.

Although applications written for Tablet PCs will take full advantage of rich features of this new platform, they can also run Windows XP compatible software applications without modifications.

As noted on various Microsoft white papers and discussion documents, the simplicity of a pen and paper augmented with the Tablet PC's digital ink offers a rich, natural experience allowing users to easily manipulate their handwritten information electronically; among these are cut, copy and paste, text between handwritten notes, search for specific text in handwritten notes, easily erase information and insert an extra space exactly wherever it's needed.

It is also extremely important to note that handwritten information can easily be shared with others, whether or not other parties have a Tablet PC; by the way handwritten information can be shared as a Journal note file, a web page, or as a black and white image.

Microsoft extends the capabilities of Office XP with the Office Pack, which is a free download. The tight integration with office products enriches user experiences by taking meeting notes with the date, time, attendees, subject information and streamlines the ability to create, maintain, and process information.

Microsoft gives ten benefits that distinguish tablet PCs; among these are compact and convertible designs that makes it the best mobile PC ever, opportunity to focus on objectives and people rather that your notebook, revolutionary note taking that will entice you to leave the paper behind especially when augmented with OneNote 2003, personalization through hand written notes, drawings that can be send through Outlook or MSN Messenger, natural highlighting or emphasizing your points in presentations, either converting handwriting to text using the Tablet PC Input Panel (TIP) or store and manipulate documents in handwriting format.
